Good Easter Sportsfield Association Committee:
Martin Allpress Chairman, Julie Oliver Treasurer, Vice Chairman Gareth Fisher, Committee member, Graham
Seeley.
Aims:
The aims of the GESFA are to maintain and improve the village centre
sports field, together with the buildings,
play and sporting
equipment.
Consistent with these aims, new swings have been installed for the younger children and new goalposts have been
erected for the older children. A grant application was successful and
new play apparatus for the very young has been installed.
The Association is aware that time and the elements have had a detrimental effect on the sports pavilion and are actively campaigning to raise sufficient funds to carry out the necessary repairs to make this a useful amenity that the village can be proud of.

has been installed around Will's Tree - in memory of William Chapman

Good
Easter Village Fete and Dog Show 2009
|
|
We
were blessed with reasonable weather this year which helped to
ensure that the Fete was a real success and everyone seemed to
enjoy themselves.
The
committee were delighted that Anne Mathews kindly agreed to open
the Fete, Craft Fair and Dog Show. Lucy Wiles presented Anne
with a posy of flowers. Putting on the three events at the same
time seems to be a real popular format and there was something
for everyone. Over 300 people from the village and many from
further away attended and seemed to stay for most of the
afternoon.
All
the money raised will go towards the running costs of the Sports
field and help pay for maintenance. We have banked over £1,700
and after costs we expect to have a net profit of over £1,250.
So
a big thank you for everyone who gave up their time, donated a
prize, made something, set up a stall, served drinks and cleared
up afterwards, well done team Good Easter, it would not have
been possible without you.
To
all those who came along and paid their hard earned money to
eat, drink, watch or had a go at one of our stalls, brought a
raffle ticket or entered the other competitions, you made the
whole effort of putting on this event worthwhile - so a real big
thank you.

Cars
shine in Good Easter 2009
The Sports Field Association
together with The Mother & Toddlers group spent the morning cleaning
cars for the villagers, to help raise monies to get sufficient funds to
complete the installation of children’s play equipment.
Even those without cars came to enjoy the splendid teas
and cakes on offer that had been given to help support the day by
members of the village.
The wonderful spring morning truly inspired the
children, supervised by their parents, to clean loads of cars.
A big thank you to all those who came with or without
their filthy cars.
In total, with the car cleaning and the teas and cakes
we received in excess of £300, this will ensure that we get further
funding of £1,000 from one of our charities who are helping to finance
the equipment.
To get us started we had a very generous donation of £100
from Glenn Harding of Good Easter Treecare, of 7 Souther Cross, for your
professional tree surgery call 01245 231147 or on his mobile 07930

Approved.
